Sonnie
Sonnie is a lovely young male dog, one of Lacey the labradors puppies. He is around 8 months old, and whilst his siblings have found homes, he is still looking.
He has spent most of his short life in residence at Antonios and has missed all his early socialisation. Consequently he is a bit wary of new people and places. He is currently in a wonderful foster home, where he is gaining confidence daily. We are urgently looking for a forever home for Sonnie. He needs a kind, gentle, patient owner, willing to give him the time to trust, and to be able to enjoy the rest of his life, as his 3 siblings are. Could it be you?
Sonnie is now 2 years old. He has been under GADAH’s care from 8 months of age when we saw him in the residence and realised he needed help. He has quite a story to tell which we are always happy to share. He displayed some unusual behaviour and character traits. We are currently engaging with a vet behaviourist and have a plan in action. Sonnie has a ‘social and environmental phobia problem most likely due to an underlying fearful temperament and stimulus deprivation at the sensitive stage of puppy development.’ Sonnie has a charm of his own and is a very handsome boy. Regardless of his fear Sonnie has never at any time shown any aggression towards people or other dogs. His carer trusts him to be around her 4 year old grandson. He is currently being looked after in a family run kennel where he has a lot of freedom and is getting the input he requires. We ultimately want to find him a suitable home where he can live as he requires.
